Por otra parte, la contratación ha crecido respecto al mes anterior, aunque ha caído en términos interanuales.
La afiliación a la Seguridad Social en mayo aumentó en 195.736 personas, un incremento de un 0,91%, empeorando respecto a los cuatro mayos previos. En términos desestacionalizados se mide un leve incremento de afiliación. El crecimiento interanual del empleo se desacelera unas 14 centésimas, hasta un 2,17%. La cifra total de afiliados queda situada en los 21,78 millones de personas, y durante los próximos meses se irá acercando a los 22 millones.
La contratación creció un 16,50% respecto a abril, con un total de 1,33 millones de contratos. En comparación con el mes anterior, el aumento de la contratación se ha producido tanto en la temporal (+22,67%) como en la indefinida (+8,82%). En términos interanuales, la contratación temporal aumentó un 1,66% mientras que la indefinida descendió un 4,06%.
Los demandantes de empleo disminuyeron en mayo en 80.026 personas (-1,88%), mejorando ligeramente el comportamiento los dos años previos, y su cifra quedó situada en los 4,17 millones. Y los demandantes ocupados -entre los que se incluyen los que tienen un contrato fijo discontinuo en inactividad- se redujeron en 21.017 personas y se sitúan en los 1,14 millones. El paro registrado se redujo en 57.835 personas (-2,30%), empeorando ligeramente respecto a mayo de 2024. La cifra de parados se sitúa en los 2,45 millones.
En cuanto al paro efectivo -el que se obtiene sumando al paro registrado aquellos demandantes de empleo con relación laboral, esencialmente los fijos discontinuos en inactividad y descontando los trabajadores en ERTE- se situó en el último mes en 3,19 millones, con una brecha respecto al paro registrado de 672.519 personas. El paro efectivo se mantiene en unas cifras ligeramente inferiores a las de un año atrás, con un descenso interanual de 70.000 personas.
La afiliación desestacionalizada reduce su crecimiento anual a un 2,16%.
El paro registrado descendió, en términos desestacionalizados, en 12.250 personas durante mayo, lo que pone de manifiesto que dicho mes ha sido positivo para esta variable.
La serie desestacionalizada de afiliación, según los criterios del Ministerio de Inclusión, Seguridad Social y Migraciones, ha reflejado en mayo un aumento mensual de 20.790 personas, equivalente a un incremento del 0,10%.
En términos interanuales, la afiliación desestacionalizada crece un 2,16%, lo que desacelera una décima su crecimiento interanual.
Baleares, Cataluña y Andalucía lideraron la creación de empleo. La Hostelería fue el sector impulsor del empleo en mayo.
La afiliación a la Seguridad Social ha crecido en todas las comunidades autónomas, con la única excepción de Canarias, y en Ceuta y Melilla. Los mayores aumentos se han medido en Baleares (+51.237), Cataluña (+37.065) y Andalucía (+21.586). El paro registrado bajó en todas las comunidades y en Ceuta y Melilla. El mayor descenso se midió en la Andalucía (-13.239).
Por sectores, en mayo la afiliación registró su mayor aumento en Hostelería (+78.476), seguida por Actividades administrativas y servicios auxiliares (+22.287). El único sector con descenso del empleo fue el de Hogares como empleadores.
Indefinidos de muy corta duración: 31.000 personas firmaron más de uno en mayo.
La contratación en mayo creció un 16,50% respecto al mes anterior.El aumento ha venido explicado tanto por la contratación temporal como, en menor medida, por la indefinida.En total, en el mes de mayo se firmaron 1,33 millones de contratos.
En el caso de la contratación indefinida se firmaron 552.697 contratos en mayo, lo que supone 44.794 más que en abril (+8,82%). El 40,45% de los contratos indefinidos fueron a tiempo completo, frente a un 37,09% fijos discontinuos y un 22,45% indefinidos a tiempo parcial. Por otra parte, 31.329 personas firmaron en mayo más de un contrato indefinido, lo que supone el 6% de todos aquellos que firmaron algún contrato de dicha naturaleza. Desde inicios de 2022 ha ocurrido con 1,25 millones de personas. La contratación temporal, por su parte, registró un aumento intermensual de 143.456 contratos (+22,67%).
En términos interanuales, la contratación ha caído un 0,80%, con disminuciones solo en la contratación indefinida (-4,06%) y aumentos en la temporal (+1,66%).
